Celebrating the life of
Madeleine “Maddy” Hope Hargett
November 18, 2021 – August 25, 2026
Forever four, forever fierce
Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), Maddy faced more challenges in her short life than most people will in a lifetime. She underwent multiple open-heart surgeries, received the gift of a heart transplant on June 9, 2025, and inspired everyone around her with her resilience, joy, and unforgettable personality.
Maddy loved dancing and singing Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things at the top of her lungs, watching Sam & Cat and Henry Danger, taking walks, waving to strangers, working out with her mom, and spending time with her Great Pyrenees, Houston. She proudly called Texas Children’s Hospital Legacy Tower CPCU “my hospital,” where the doctors, nurses, therapists, and staff became like family.
This website was created to preserve Maddy’s story and celebrate the remarkable little girl who taught so many people about courage, laughter, and love.
Maddy was surrounded each day with love by her mother, Joanna, her stepfather Garrett, her sisters Arwen and Chrissy, her half siblings Kaelen, Adrianna, and Tristan, and her stepsisters Chloe and Aubrey.
